The Glamorous Palace of Lords of Clam-Gallas is the heart of the Prague carnival. Salon Cafe , Infocentre, Bohemian stage or Camera Carnevale are the places where you can be whoever you always wanted to be. Carmina Bohemica

About the choir
Chamber mixed choir Carmina Bohemica, settled in Prague, was founded by the absolvent of children’s choir Bambini di Praga in 2007. It has become an interesting variegation of the Czech choir scene thanks to the chamber structure and diverse repertoire.

The vocal ensemble Carmina Bohemica is performing on the profile concerts without instruments (a capella) and also with an accompaniment of instruments. Theingers interpret completely divergent music styles with absolute assurance and tremendous musicality. The range of music includes Gregorian chorals, Renaissance polyphonic music, works of the classical period, romantic compositions, vocal production of the 19th and 20th century, folk songs of Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia and also up-to-date songs from nations all over the world sung in original languages.

Art conductor and choirmaster of this ensemble is Mrs. Věra Hrdinková.

Carmina Bohemica was participating in the programme of Bohemian Carnevale 2008.

Do you plan to metamorphose during the Carnival? Are you looking for some costume, which will finally allow you to become, who you always wanted to be. Then you definitely have to visit the carnival Boudoir. In Carnival Salon make-up studio and dress room are installed. You can order make-up and rent the carnival costume and become the Star of Bohemian Heaven.

Carnival cunning piece / starinng: Chorea Historica a Ritornello

Commedia dell’ Arte from Česky Krumlov. This is art, imaginary, scenic, and musical reconstruction of a play, which was probably performed in the baroque aristocratic theatre of Český Krumlov castle about in mid of 18th century. There you can meet a French Columbine and German Hanswurst, this lifelike play engrosses viewers by its atmosphere and story as well.

This piece has got a kind of low comedy involution; event through it is very entertaining and enjoyable play. Mother will figure out wedding of her daughter behind her back, but she has got her own love, who she wants to marry. Fortunately her clever maid Columbine with always smart Hanswurst will prepare a tricky scene for the mother, which is realized during Carnival.

Take part in TRIUMF contest - the most beautiful display of this year's Carnevale - and become the Genius of Bohemian's Heaven. You can win spring boots, ticket for Crystal Ball, presentation of your masque in catalogue Bohemian Guide 2009 and other worthwile prizes!!! Your name will be immortalized on the challenge trophy.

You can compete in following categories: amateur (children) and professional (everyone from the age of 16) - and following disciplines: SOLO, DUO and SQUADRA (group). Startup for amateurs is free, for studying professionals 500 CZK and for others 1000 CZK.
